I always associate my birthday with Nikky’s birthday.

It makes it hard for me to be happy it’s mine when I can’t be happy it’ll be hers two days later.

It still feels surreal. I have a re-occurring dream where she’s still alive and we’re still friends and we never grew apart.

She was two inches taller and two days younger and two times as wonderful as anyone knew.

It doesn’t seem reasonable that I’m still so upset. I hadn’t seen her since high school, we stopped being friends halfway through high school. I talked to her briefly online once last year and we made amends, but we grew apart and never grew back together.

But I miss her so much sometimes. I loved her so much. I think I wonder sometimes… if I could’ve been around—if we could’ve been friends again—would she still be here today? I know I didn’t make it happen, and I know she still had great friends, but what if she had just one more? What if I could’ve been there for her?

Would she be twenty-two on Friday?

I know it’s just torture to ask these kinds of things. There’s no way of telling and there’s no changing it.

I just wanted to return to Tumblr for just long enough to tell you that if I get arrested any time soon it’s because my father has taken to playing a tambourine for twelve hours a day.

I actually legitimately feel like I’m going insane when I’m in the same room as him.

I have never experienced so much rage.

I will be surprised if I don’t yell at him, scream uncontrollably, and/or burn all of his drums.
